The Tver Theater was established in 1745 at the Tver Theological Seminary, which was opened on February 16, 1739 and housed in the building of the Tver Russian Diocesan School at the Fedorovsky Monastery on the island at the mouth of the Tymaki River, and survived there for about 30 years.
