The monument was located in the square on Komsomolskaya Square. It was here during the war that the defense line of the city passed. In October the 41st T-34 tank under the command of Gorobets passed from west to east through Kalinin, occupied by the enemy, destroying the living force and equipment of the Germans. In the Elevator area, the tank went out to the Soviet troops. There was no such raid in the history of the entire Second World War. The heroic deed of the crew became a symbol of self-sacrifice.
