MONUMENT TO A.S. PUSHKIN IN CITY GARDEN

The monument to Pushkin on the embankment in the Municipal Garden of Tver was opened in May 1974, to the 175th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet. Sculptor – Oleg Konstantinovich Komov, architects – Nina Ivanovna Komova and Valery Alexeyevich Frolov. The bronze 3,5-meter sculpture is installed on a granite-covered pedestal with a height of 0,7 m. The monument perfectly fits into the landscape of the Yaroslavich waterfront. On the site of this composition, called “White Nights”, the city authorities originally planned to install a monument to ME Saltykov-Shchedrin, however, having familiarized himself with the composition of the sculptor O. Komov, they decided to establish it.
